About Sharanjit Kaur

I am a trained clinical psychologist from SNDT (Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersay) University,Mumbai,India. I received my training in Clinical Psychology through placements in KEM, Masina as well as J.J. hospital and Sparks Alternative Education,Mumbai. I also hold an advance Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCEd.) My passion to teach and imbibe knowledge has led me to be a part of Maniben Nanavati Women’s College as well as S.P.N.Doshi College, and SVT (Sir Vithaldas Thackersay) College, Mumbai previously. These colleges are affiliated to SNDT University. I have been assessing and diagnosing and treating clients of various age groups and with various psychological difficulties for the past eight years. My experience in the field of Psychology is multi-dimensional, from being a “shadow teacher”, a “remedial educator”, and an overall performance therapist for children ranging from a tender age of 5 - 15 yrs. I have been implementing Behaviour Modification Therapies, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) for counselling students. Working with children for the past eight years helped me to develop my proficiency and competence in the area of assessment, diagnosis and intervention strategies. Thus, my specialization rests in working with children with special needs. As today’s educational system keeps on turning to be more and more complex and competitive, parents are perplexed to see tremendous pressure on their wards. One can see children struggling to meet their curriculum’s expectations. Such academically oriented life takes a psychological toll on a child’s mind. This necessitates the need of psychological support by a professional psychologist. A healthy mind builds a strong foundation for a healthy, zestful and carefree,purposeful life. With sheer determination and positive attitude, I am willing to face the challenge of empowering such kids who learn differently.
