About Sharece Corner

Bridging the opportunity gap by providing access to underserved and underrepresented minorities in the workplace is extremely important to me. I really enjoy facilitating dialogue on topics that address systemic oppression and ways to empower underrepresented minorities. I also enjoy connecting with Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and student organizations to give their concerns and needs a voice. Presently, as an Undergraduate Coordinator for the Chemical Engineering Department at MIT, I plan and manage recruiting programs to encourage new students to declare Chemical Engineering as their major. In addition, I co-chair the department’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, an initiative that was formed as a result of ongoing conversations about equity in the workplace. In this role, I help lead conversations on departmental diversity and inclusion efforts. I’m also facilitating discussions with staff and seeking their feedback to ensure their voices are represented as well. Finally, I’m identifying campus partners who can help us determine biases within our policies, practices and procedures.
