About Sharmayne Smith

I have eighteen years experience as a call center agent, including time spent as a Front Line Representative, Mentor, Escalations Specialist and as a Team Lead. I have currently been employed with VON Canada as a CSA since September 14, 2020 starting with home care clients and quickly moving into being dual trained as a nursing CSA in less than six months. I was the primary worker for our East Hants district, being one of the hardest ones to cover and built strong rapport with my clients and workers in that area. In my time with Alberta Blue Cross I progressed from an entry-level call center agent with Regional Customer Services, to being dual trained with National Customer Services as well as handling National Email Correspondence. I also thrived on educating and mentoring other agents during various stages of their New Hire Training. In my Team Lead roll with Alberta Blue Cross I was responsible for managing both Regional and National representatives, taking escalated calls and handling National Correspondence. I was also in charge of heading the National Training department as well as keeping sections of our internal information site up to date. I have excelled in the call center environment and believe that my experience and skills gained up to this point will be extremely valuable to this position.
