About Sharon Avey

A Master’s prepared Registered Nurse with many years of nursing and leadership experience in both traditional and non-traditional nursing roles. Building from a clinical background in paediatric acute care and rehabilitation, my career has included positions in nursing regulation, professional practice, clinical informatics, policy analysis, and clinical management. I am passionate about promoting and supporting excellence in nursing practice and client care; including the use of technology in clinical practice to optimize documentation, workflow and data collection, and the use of data in ongoing quality improvement initiatives. I have a solid knowledge of project management, change leadership, health care organizations, clinical practice, and electronic health records. I am a highly professional, collaborative, process and systems-oriented leader with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. I exhibit exemplary communication, interpersonal and team skills, and am a diplomatic and supportive leader, mentor and supervisor. I am highly organized and attentive to detail.
