About Sharon Chen

I’m a museum educator and cultural leader with over 15 years of experience developing inclusive, engaging, and socially impactful programmes in Singapore’s arts and heritage sector. My work is grounded in the belief that museums are not just spaces for learning—but catalysts for well-being, connection, and belonging. At the heart of my practice is a deep commitment to accessibility, lifelong learning, and community engagement. I strive to make arts and culture more human-centred, inclusive, and relevant. My career journey has taken me across institutions like the Singapore Art Museum, National Arts Council, and Asian Civilisations Museum, where I’ve led cross-sector collaborations with educators, artists, healthcare professionals, and social service agencies. I’ve also contributed to the global museum field through research and presentations at ICOM, Museums and the Web, and international conferences on health, ageing, and accessibility. I enjoy mentoring emerging practitioners and exploring the intersection of art, care, and technology.
