Liaising, negotiating, systemising, organising, preparing, managing, supporting, problem solving, reporting, implementing. These are my skills. I do them well and always with a list or two by my side. How did it all start- It started with wallpaper! My obsession with decorating my bedroom during my teenage years is where my career path started. Wallpaper back then ruled! Especially the paper with the intricate designs – each drop had to match up 100%. An eye for detail was required. This led me to study Interior Design in London, and then gain a Diploma in Interior Design once in Perth, WA. Whilst being part of setting up and running a small Building Company I realised what motivated me most. It was the developing of new systems, negotiating and managing the trades, liaising with the Clients, working with figures and accomplishing all my numerous To-do lists - Oh how I love a list. Today, having been in the construction industry for over two decades, I have experienced many roles. This gives me a great understanding of the fast paced, dynamic, at times challenging, yet exciting industry it is. As a Contract Administrator navigating through Covid and coming out the other side still with happy clients was possibly the biggest challenge to date. It refined communication skills, fostered creative problem-solving, and reinforced the importance of making informed, swift decisions. I learned the art of scrutinising budgets while maintaining profitability in a challenging market. I feel privileged to be within the industry. To date, it’s been a fun and interesting learning curve. Essentially I am helping people live a better quality of life.
