About Sharon Hon

I am a strategic health system leader with a track record of success, championing the voice of communities with a vision to make health care more accessible, equitable, and sustainable. I have held progressive leadership roles in health system transformation and integration and implementation of health programs in the community. Emanating from my passion for strategy, social impact, and truly partnering with people and communities so that they can reach their full potential, I have pursued highly complex opportunities that align with these values. I have demonstrated a growth mindset and ability to pivot by being a valuable leader on transformation projects that are vastly different (eg creation and maturation of Ontario Health agency, children and youth mental health, public health modernization, and emergency health transformation), while bringing strong leadership, relationship management, and policy/program development and evaluation skills to the forefront. I quickly adapted and attuned my skills to lead a team and develop frameworks and narratives to guide strategy implementation, gather insights, act as a centralized hub for system transformation and lessons learned, and set up a new executive office to guide health system transformation in government. I am a trusted advisor, and lead teams with empathy and intention delivering high quality and impactful outcomes. Colleagues and teams know me as a people-centred leader, and count on me to partner and deliver on shared goals, and provide evidence-based strategic advice. I have been recognized for my ability to break down complex problems into easily understandable strategic solutions and developing compelling narratives, mobilizing teams to deliver on action plans, developing strong partnerships, and facilitating executive decision-making. Outside of work, I am a coach supporting people through life and career transitions, and finding a place of belonging and discovering who they are. I also love reading and all things wellness (eg working out, gardening), and seeing the world through my little one’s eyes.
