About Sharon Meng

Sharon Meng is a dedicated and experienced Sonographer/Radiographer (QUT Distinction)(Golden Key Academic Award) with a demonstrated history of working in the Private and Public hospital environments, Allied health care clinics and educational sectors. Sharon is proficiently skilled in general ultrasound including Breast, Vascular, Obstetrics, Gynaecological and Musculoskeletal studies, Clinical Research, X-ray, CT, Sonographic Education, and Medical Devices. Sharon has attained qualification from DMU and has been affiliated with the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF). She is a strong healthcare provider who has studied a Master of Medical Ultrasound (CQU)(with distinction) specializing in Fetal Echocardiography, Paediatrics, Communications & Research Methodologies. Sharon is current employed at Gold Coast Radiology, formerly at Australian Institute of Ultrasound (AIU) Q Scan, Breast-Screen, Mackay Base Hospital and QLD X-ray and has been a registered and qualified radiographer/sonographer with over 22 years experience. Sharon is (ASAR accredited) and has been an advocate for rural and remote health (ACRRM). Sharon is a continuing current member of Australasian Ultrasound of Medicine (ASUM) and Australian Sonography Association (ASA) and has been a qualified and trained examiner for CQU and Monash Universities.Sharon has performed research on the implementation of technological advances within the higher education division and introducing new forms of pedagogical delivery, she has formerly been enrolled in a graduate certificate in tertiary education. Sharon was a participant in a randomized scientific research study carried out at the Royal Brisbane Hospital hematology department in bone marrow donations for leukemia recipients. Her vision for the future is to hone her expertise in health care directly into educational research to facilitate the growth and endorsement of the medical sonographical professional body.
