About Sharon Olson

I am currently serving Irving Township as Clerk and learning Governance and technology skills. I am the fiduciary officer of the board. I manage all records including cemetery records. I have participated in the modernization of the Qualified Voter File and all new election equipment and technology. I have modernized the book keeping and budget management by moving to cloud based technology. I am now in the process of modernizing the cemetery record keeping with a custom built program for Irving Cemetery. I am enjoying the challenges of duty and count it a privilege to serve our Citizens. In the past, I worked in the social science field as a direct care provider and as a case manager in foster care. I was called onto active duty as a 1st Lieutenant for Desert Storm in 1991. I resigned my commission to be a part time stay-at-home Mother. I started driving school bus in order to maintain the same schedule as my children and be able to be with them over school breaks. I have spent my life adapting to the needs of my family to the best of my ability and believe that my choices are in line with my values. Now that my children are getting older, I am once again adapting my skills. My Father, Jack Jennex, was a Minister and a Realtor. He started his own small real estate company in Perry, MI and was the closing broker there. He was also a real estate investor who owned several income properties including one apartment building in Perry. I grew up steeped in the real estate business and briefly worked in his office before leaving for college. It is my desire to serve my community in a way that provides enrichment and direction, and in a way that enhances the happiness of those I serve. I have a strong desire for community and peace, learning and success, art and beauty, family and strength, faith in God and action.
