About Sharon Perry
In collaboration with the Stanford Center for International Security and Cooperation developed the Bay Area TB Consortium to engage North Korea on mutual interests in tuberculosis control. From 2007-2011, directed the Stanford North Korea Tuberculosis Diagnostics Project, a US NGO collaboration to develop new laboratory capacity for detection of drug resistant tuberculosis in North Korea. Has completed several trips to North Korea and Asia. A past recipient of an NIH career development award, she publishes in the scientific literature on chronic infections of the developing world, and has developed research collaborations in Africa and Asia. She holds an EdM in Social Policy from Harvard University and an AB, mcl, in History and Economics from Boston University. Interested in population-based biology of TB and relation to modern geopolitical reallignments.
