I passionately assist people to become the best version of themselves and to live their best life! My current role is as Family AOD Support Clinician in Gippsland for ACSO, counselling family members surrounding the AOD use of their loved ones. The changes that our families are able to make with a little support that ultimately lead to substance use change in their loved ones is amazing. Most recently, I was General Manager of a Disability Support Company. Responsible for day-to-day operations, staffing and HR, rostering, client liaison and assessment, complex case management, support co-ordination and compliance to name just a few. Originally employed as Mental Health & AOD Manager, it wasn’t long before the directors promoted me into the role of General Manager. Prior to this, I worked for the Salvation Army as a Case Manager in the Doorways program. I had the pleasure of advocating for local people to assist with housing, employment, financial and food assistance, legal assistance etc. and building a network of local community contacts. I particularly enjoyed working with people recently released from prison, assisting them to integrate back into society and helping them towards a fresh start. With a Diploma of Community Services with general, mental health and AOD units studied - I am well qualified to undertake a range of community services positions. With a background in aged care nursing and the successful completion of Diploma of Nursing back in 2008, I also have health care experience. When I left nursing, I trained as a personal trainer and then opened my own gym. I successfully ran my business and trained women to exercise their bodies, improve their nutrition and lose weight. With my background in health care, I concentrated on my clients health and their mental and physical well-being.
