About Sharon van Stralen

Curious, emphatic, and goal-oriented; I have an interest in translating scientific (nutritional) research into concrete applications suitable for the broader public. For example, my MSc internship was focussed on the development of an informative tool on the phosphate content of beverages for renal patients. Currently, I am working on the visualisation of public health data to increase the utilisation among colleagues, civil servants, and aldermen. In addition, I am responsible for the execution of a large epidemiologic study among youths and for preparing the data analysis of newly acquired public health data. During my Bachelors at Wageningen University, I developed knowledge of nutritional behaviour by following the minor Sensory Science and Eating Behaviour. More profound knowledge was added during my Masters by following extra consumer behaviour courses. Additionally, my knowledge about sports in relation to physiology and nutrition was further developed; equipping myself with a lot of relevant knowledge that I aspire to use in my professional life.
