About Sharone Putter

Sharone Putter [American, b.1962] Putter acquired her eclectic art-making skills during her many years of study and travel abroad. She studied philosophy and art history at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, porcelain restoration in Dublin, Ireland, drawing in Marrakech, Morocco, glass art in Bohemia, Czech Republic, and glass / bronze casting in Frauenau, Germany. When Putter returned to the United States, she studied glass sculpture and digital printmaking at New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University, NY. In her current work she portrays often overlooked and even avoided everyday worksites. Her process distills the fleeting narratives and brings them into prominence. Her artwork is represented in the US by Sarah Gormley Gallery. Putter resides in Columbus, Ohio, and instructs art at the Pricilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center.
