About Sharyn Button

My credentialing includes working as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-A), and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). I have recently started a private therapy practice with my colleague, Jessica Cuttance, called Nourish Carolina Counseling. We are located in Cary, North Carolina, and we provide outpatient counseling services to English and Spanish-speaking adolescents, adults and families. I am also working part-time as an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Etheridge Psychology, P.A. in Cary, North Carolina. My specialties include working with adults with depression, anxiety, stress, substance use, personality disorders, impulsive behaviors, interpersonal challenges, anger, and identity issues. I utilize evidence-based therapies such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I completed intensive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) training through Behavioral Tech, a Linehan Institute Training Company in 2016. I have experience facilitating DBT skills classes in which I taught and practiced with clients coping skills related to core mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. In addition to providing psychotherapy, I am also interested in learning more about utilizing yoga therapy as a treatment method in improving mental health symptoms. I am currently pursuing my 200-hour yoga teaching training certification through Carrboro Yoga Company, and I anticipate to complete my training in April 2018.
