About Shashank Mugali

I am a Master’s student in Data Science at DePaul University with a strong foundation in machine learning, statistics, and programming. Although I am at the beginning of my professional career, I have built several hands-on projects that gave me practical exposure to data preprocessing, predictive modeling, and AI applications. Some of my projects include a Product Review Sentiment Classifier (94% accuracy), Employee Attrition Prediction (AUC 0.91), and a Speech Emotion Recognition system using deep learning. These experiences helped me develop skills in Python, R, SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and data visualization tools. I am especially passionate about Generative AI, NLP, and building AI solutions that solve real-world problems. With certifications such as Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900), I am eager to apply my knowledge to internships and collaborative opportunities where I can contribute while continuing to grow as a data scientist.
