About Shashwat Sarin

I am a liver transplant and HPB surgeon with over 10 years of experience and direct involvement in 1,500+ liver transplants across leading centers in India and abroad. My expertise spans adult and pediatric transplantation, complex HPB surgery, and minimally invasive donor surgery, including robotic donor hepatectomy. Currently at CLBS, Max Hospitals — one of the largest-volume liver transplant programs globally with over 450 transplants annually — I work within a team renowned for pushing surgical and patient-care frontiers. My career has included key roles at RIMC, Chennai and Florence Nightingale Hospital, Istanbul, and I have spearheaded programs such as the establishment of the Liver Transplant Unit and Department of HPB Surgery at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Jaipur. Elected Chair of the Vanguard Committee, Liver Transplant Society of India (LTSI), I am deeply committed to advancing liver transplant science and training the next generation of surgeons. My professional focus is on surgical innovation, outcome optimization, and developing sustainable, high-quality transplant programs. I have parallel interests in Artificial intelligence, healthcare entrepreneurship, and optimizing patient/workflow in hospital environments.
