About Shatonya Howell

I am hardworking, a great multitasker, and determined to become a healthcare professional. I have had the opportunity to intern at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. In addition to learning the process of administrative roles, I also worked on Emergency Room Data. Using data tools such as pivot tables, vlookups, formulas, and more allowed me to display information to hospital leadership to thoroughly explain what the data meant and how the hospital was being affected. Due to this opportunity, I have had the experience to work one- on -one with hospital professionals and it has made me eager to continue learning about healthcare and managing a healthcare facility. I have found my passion with data analytics and data management while working in the healthcare setting. These opportunities have inspired me to work in the healthcare field and continue my education at East Carolina University where I have completed my Master's in Health Informatics and Information Management where I have deepened my understanding of healthcare data management and can tackle complex healthcare challenges and create data driven strategies to improve the gaps or inconsistencies in healthcare delivery and outcomes. I am extremely excited to expand my knowledge and skills in healthcare analytics and data management in healthcare organizations.
