About Shaun Wallace

Senior Geologist with 21 years experience (offshore and onshore, within conventional and unconventional oil and gas projects). I joined Westside Corporation as Operations Geologist, 5 years ago, having also completed 7 years working on projects with Arrow Energy, QGC, BG-Group and Shell in Queensland. Previously, I have worked on projects in the North Sea (Dutch and British sectors), Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iran, UAE, Thailand and Australia (WA and NSW) and have 9 years experience as an M/LWD Engineer for Halliburton, Pathfinder and Weatherford. I have extensive experience in technical well completion reporting, having worked as consultant within a team that (successfully) submitted (2600+) BG-Group reports to the Queensland government (requiring regular liaison with geologists, drilling engineers, petro-physicists, service companies and government technical experts). This project established the bench-mark for industry best-practice in Australia. I am a dual national (British and Australian), with two valid passports. My Australian citizenship is by way of graduate company sponsorship, whilst working as a project exploration geologist in the gold industry in Western Australia during the nineties (for approximately 4 years, prior to starting my career within the oil and gas industry). I have a long history within Surf Lifesaving, both as a volunteer and professional (in the UK and Western Australia), mainly within operations and training development. For a period of approx 4 years, I was Operations Manager (Training) at SLSGB, working on a project funded by the RNLI. My role was to develop the first, British Inshore Rescue Boat and Rescue Water Craft (Jet-ski) award systems for surf rescue (where i authored two, 180 page training manuals with all supporting training materials, policies, monitoring systems and awards). I also personally trained, performance-managed and mentored over 100 RNLI staff and volunteers (as instructors, examiners and tutors) in order to roll-out the award systems country-wide. I hold examiner level qualifications in both Australia and the UK.
