About Shawn Bryan

With a background in environmental sciences, aquatic sports, and water safety, I am able to combine my practical skills with my design & problem solving perspective gained from my degree in Architecture to approach any opportunity or challenge with confidence. I teach my athletes about the importance of communication, team work, and adapting to challenges. When faced with a problem, there are often multiple ways to approach it, and it is important to be prepared to decide & act quickly if needed but also identify if its better to evaluate all solutions for the one with the best outcome. In my role as Aquatic Director at the Bloom Wellness & Events Center, I work with clients to meet both their larger objectives but also solve some of their day-to-day concerns to ensure the best possible experience. I also manage the operation and up-keep of a top-tier aquatic facility, serving more than 15 outside organizations and dozens of NJIT partnered or sponsored groups. I recruit, on-board, and manage a team of more than 35 lifeguards and work closely with building operations staff to facilitate many types of events at the pool and in the building as a whole.
