About Shawn Jones

Shawn Jones is an award winning composer, songwriter, and performer residing in Austin, TX. His experimental pop band, the Lovely Sparrows, has been featured in Pitchfork, Spin, Paste, No Depression, and Rolling Stone. Jones has produced campaigns and audio installations for Ford Focus, Meow Wolf, Rooster Teeth, Varathane, and Class Dojo. His composition work for film, games, and theatre has received accolades from Vice Magazine, Kotaku, and Rock Paper Shotgun. He is a wildcat on the bass, guitar, and saxophone, with an audio portfolio for nearly every occasion. He obtained his Master's of Music Composition from Texas State University, with a focus on New Music, where he was thrilled to have the Attacca Quartet record his string quartet, Strange Procession. Jones owns and operates Hermetic Recording, a boutique recording and arranging studio, and is Musical Director and co-writer for Night People Games, an experimental narrative driven video game company. Additionally, he serves on the board of Twin Alchemy Collective. In 2019, Jones founded Lost Horizon Cider Mill. An artful approach to cider and NA beverages, with an emphasis on no artificial flavors and ingredients, with apples and pears sourced from small family farms, and proceeds from sales benefitting Texas Animal Rescue.
