About Shawna Brunner

I am a Branch Manager with RBC Royal Bank, and have gained skills on people management and development, client contact management, investing strategies, credit applications and risk, and the estate process. Before my role with RBC, I worked with the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival to produce the 31st annual event, connecting makers, bakers and creators directly to their clients. I learned valuable skills in business-to-business sales, as well as project management and market research. My education was with Algonquin College in Ottawa, where I earned an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration - Finance. I was fortunate to receive a well-rounded education across many fields of business, including finance, HR, accounting, marketing, business law, and tax planning. My degree also guided me through obtaining my Canadian Securities Course, and the prerequisite learning for the Canadian Financial Planning level 1 exam. During college, I had the opportunity to become a franchisee for College Pro Painting. With the guidance of a mentor, I owned and operated my own business painting Ottawa homes. I hired a team of three painters and over the course of 8 months achieved in sales. I was awarded a Net Promoter Score award for my stellar client relationship building while operating my business. I have my roots in Northern Ontario, where I lived and worked at the family business, a Lodge catering to hunters, fishermen and snowmobilers. I grew up learning to converse with guests, and working everyday with my family to grow and improve our business to what is now an excellently rated, highly desired vacation spot in Ontario.
