Quotes (see below for full recommendations): As an educator:"Shawna brings energy and passion to her instruction. Students sense her enthusiasm and learn to love music class. While her lessons are well-structured and organized, there is an element of joy and playfulness to her instruction. Shawna’s talent lies in her ability to make music class fun and engaging while incorporating age‐appropriate content and skill development." As a Cantorial Soloist and choir director:"Shawna is one of those incredibly talented musicians who can do anything! She has a natural sense of music. She is able to translate her musical talent to lead her choir, both through learning and performance, and she is also a well-respected, effective teacher.""Here's the important part - Building community, turning notes into prayer - in my mind, that's the greater goal of liturgical music and that always seemed to be right in the center of your focus.""Shawna has been so much more than a Choir Director. She is a gifted musician from whom I have learned a tremendous amount about singing style, ensemble work, maintaining vocal health, breath control and more. Her other musical skills, including her own beautiful singing voice, are superb. She is the consummate professional." As a tutor:"Shawna is an exemplary tutor. She was especially good working with students who had learning challenges. She was always professional, on time, and nurturing to both students and parents, as well as a wonderful colleague with whom to collaborate. I highly recommend her."
