About Shayla Thompson

I have had a vast career in both human and veterinary medicine. All opportunities have helped me to advance my critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills. It has also allowed me to be more empathetic, caring, and driven to help people and animals in their time of need.Having passion and being able to dedicate part of myself to our communities in need will always be a part of me. I transitioned into Organ Donation Services in June 2023. Being in this position has vastly improved all of my skills, and has given me new opportunities to develop more. It has given me a new appreciation for communities. DonorConnect (formerly Intermountain Donor Services), headquartered in the Salt Lake City area, is the federally designated, nonprofit community service organization dedicated to the recovery and transplantation of organs and tissues for Utah, southeastern Idaho, western Wyoming, and Elko, Nevada. Our service area encompasses more than 3.9 million residents, 90+ hospitals, and three transplant centers – Primary Children’s Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, and University of Utah Hospital (along with the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center).Without organ donation, there is no story, no hope, no transplant.
