About Shayne White

My three deepest passions are music, language, and my faith. I am a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and have roots in both Sonoma and Marin Counties - often I feel drawn north to the pristine, beautiful Redwood Empire and south to exciting, opportunistic San Francisco.(I plan on applying at SFSU soon.) I'm glad I live exactly in between! My music experience is extensive. I spent over ten years touring with the Celtic music group Distant Oaks, performing Celtic harp and Scottish/Cape Breton stepdancing. I eventually tired of traditional music that was always the same and moved onto modern music that is new and evolving. Over the years I have built up a state-of-the-art home recording studio based around analog synthesizers and a powerful DAW running Cakewalk Sonar X2. I have self-produced five albums and two EPs of solo electronic music, ranging from chill-out to progressive house to trance. I was also involved in a duo with my brother called Binary Sea, and together we produced a full-length album and an EP. My products are available on Amazon, CD Baby, and BandCamp. My web site, Blazing Edge Productions, contains my full music portfolio. I have received compliments that the sound quality of my recordings is excellent too. I have generally kept my creative writing skills under lock-and-key up till now, but I have recently finished my first publishable novel that I plan to start pitching to literary agents soon. It is a comedic fantasy, set in a fictional country called Lakerown inspired by California. I'll reveal more details soon. When my time at Santa Rosa Junior College is over, I plan to attend San Francisco State University beginning next year (if all goes well) to learn how to become a professional audio engineer. I already have experience in sound recording and mixing on a project studio level, but I want to be able to produce and record albums in a professional studio, or work on sound production for movies and games.
