I am an experienced Head of Command with a track record in criminal justice at local, regional and national level, expert at developing business capabilities across people, process and technology to deliver meaningful change and provide a platform for operational excellence. Recognised for establishing, and engendering support for, a shared vision, mission and core values, I create a common purpose and deliver a positive impact on society. I design effective delivery models aligned with business priorities to enable a smoother running criminal justice system. During my career, I have undertaken progressive roles with Northumbria Police, the Metropolitan Police and most recently, Durham Constabulary with my current role being Head of Command – Governance & Insights My achievements include: Creating the first UK legal and ethical framework for the use of algorithms in policing, following the introduction of the first machine learning offender forecasting process, helping to inform accurate and consistent Custody Sergeant decision making. Altering the ranking of the case quality for the Durham Constabulary from 32nd in the country to 1st, a process highlighted by Lord Justice Leveson as exemplary.
