About Sheena Walker
My focus at GE has been in the Advanced Ceramics Technology group, developing ceramic matrix composites (CMC's) for aircraft engine applications. My work has included research and development, material behavior analyses, and in-depth material characterization. The thing I enjoy most about my job is the diverse work scope. My job includes overcoming technical challenges to implement designs, problem solving, interfacing with customers and suppliers, and project management. I'm involved in the Women's Network at GE, as well as mentoring co-ops and high school students interested in careers in engineering/science. I have found that I enjoy mentoring and motivating people to reach a shared goal, and I hope to combine technical and managerial skills in future roles.
