About Sheetal Sharma

With 24 years of professional experience and 12 years of teaching experience, I am an architect, urban planner, and government-approved valuer. I am currently the dean and professor of the school of architecture at the VIT Bhopal university. I am honoured to have started the School of Architecture from the beginning and to have been the leader of two institutions that have given me the skills to handle pressure, challenges, and opportunities as well as to develop or evolve through time. Education: B.Arch. 1997; top student at Amravati University (Gold Medalist); top student at MANIT during post-graduation in urban development planning (MUDP) in 2010. 2015 MANIT Bhopal awarded a doctoral degree in the Faculty of Architecture & Planning for research on changes in surface water flows as a result of urbanisation in the context of Physical Planning. Currently engaged in sustainable urban planning research. associated with a variety of environmental research institutes, including EPCO, IES, Smart Cities, Urban Conservation, etc. Received "*Intellectual of the Year Award 2020*" from Rifacimento International for excellence in research and academics as well as "Women Excellence Awards 2021" in the fields of architecture and urban planning from the International Leadership Development Council (ILDC) and "Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi Gold Medal Award’ by Global economic Research Progress and Research Associates, GEPRA, Tamil Nadu 2021. In addition, I was appointed to the positions of member of the Academic Council for VIT Bhopal's Board of Management in LNCT, member of the NAAC team for Criterion 6 at VIT Bhopal, secretary for ITPI Madhya Pradesh through 2021, executive member for IIA Bhopal and Senate Member SPA Delhi, respectively. My interest in environmental preservation has led me to work on projects like the Smart City Project, the Heritage of Begums and Raja Bhoj, and Upper Lake Bhopal. Professional Experience: My architectural firm offers upscale professional services in architecture and allied fields like structural designing and planning, interior design, and immovable property valuation. This company also successfully and expertly completed a variety of jobs including residential and commercial properties under semi-government and government programmes, with a focus on colonial development as well as private assets.
