About Shelby Baty

Hello! My name is Shelby Baty and it's nice to see you here on my profile. I am a detail-oriented and customer focused individual with a heart for leading with kindness! Having a background in education I know what it means to understand a customer inside and out. I am skilled at tactical empathy and active listening to understand the goals, needs and obstacles of a customer and adjusting my approach. Establishing relationships and building up others is my passion! I have ample experience in analyzing data and creating actionable steps and plans. I've collaborated with multiple team members and administrators to implement data plans for small groups as well as individual learners. In my current role I created action plans for 15 learners that averaged below 70% success that resulted in over 90% of students reaching the target goal. My passion is helping others! As an English as a Second Language teacher I advocated for bilingual students to create equitable learning spaces. I created the first ever ESL family night to bring together community members and organized a mentorship program in the district to help students acclimate and reach their fullest potential. I have also helped to onboard student teachers, teaching assistants, and fellow colleagues which included weekly performance evaluations and monthly goal sessions to help them find value in their work and make goals on areas to grow. Interests: In my free time you can find me outdoors reading, hiking, camping, biking or playing with my daughter. I helped run a kayak rental and took groups on river trips in college. I'm also beginning a volunteer opportunity helping students with disabilities ride horses.
