About Shelby Daniel

Shelby Daniel is a senior at Arizona State University where she is studying Business Sports and Media. Shelby has experience in customer service, working with people of all ages. The summer of 2019, she worked as a waitress at Pinetop Country Club, where in a short time she quickly adapted to the fast pace environment, developed efficient server skills, and learned appropriate serving etiquette. The skills she used while at the country club where problem solving, time management and customer service. Frequently, she managed several separate tasks at once. During her days off from waitressing, Shelby worked as a tennis instructor for young children. Shelby's early childhood interests in sports are now a major part of her adult social and working life. She plays on the ASU Club Tennis Team where at tournaments she acts as a captain of her team. As captain she is put in charge of managing the players, finding court locations, subbing players in and out and filling out the score cards. She also worked for the Arizona Diamondback in the Corporate Partnership Division where she worked face to face with fans creating a more interactive experience by setting them up to play virtual reality baseball. Her job included entering scores in the computer database and setting the program up for the fans to play. Upon graduation she plans to get her master’s in marketing to one day work for a sports marketing team. Shelby is a very active community volunteer and has participated in programs such as feed my starving children and the Walk for Autism. Through Shelby’s volunteering she has become interested in getting people of all different backgrounds involved with sports. She one day plans to run her own non-profit which would get more kids from low income areas involved with sports.
