About Sheldon Mercer

The education that I have gained from Memorial University of Newfoundland and the experience gained throughout my military career, Faculty of Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Cameron Canada Corporation, Aker Solutions Angola and Halliburton Energy Services Canada and Indonesia provide me with a broad outlook on the various operational and technical aspects of a major organization. My work experience includes several years completions, testing and commissioning of subsea systems including Intelligent Completions equipment (Downhole Pressure and Temperature Gauges and Flow Control), Completion Tools, IWOCS, Subsea Control Modules, Vertical and Horizontal XMT’s. I have experience in supervision, inspection, maintenance, repair, operation and trouble-shooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic weapon systems with the Royal Canadian Navy, four years of materials preparation, identification, inspection, visualization, testing (destructive and non-destructive) and electromechanical control laboratory equipment setup and testing at Memorial University. I believe my training and experience with electro-mechanical systems and the Oil and Gas Industry is ideal for the Subsea Equipment Advisory position. I am very efficient in a fast-paced, high stress level environment, have excellent communication and organizational skills, possess a very high level of aptitude of learning for sophisticated technical machinery and equipment. I have developed excellent supervisory and leadership skills while working in different locations and cultures throughout the world.
