The Beginning of My Marketing Journey Ever since I can remember, the world of marketing fascinated me. Even as a child, I would study billboards and commercials on TV, analyzing the strategies used to promote products and services. As I grew up, I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in this field. I decided to study marketing and started my professional journey at JBN International as an account executive while completing my Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing. Climbing the Corporate Ladder 🧗‍ After gaining valuable experience at JBN International, I moved on to British American Tobacco (BAT) as a sales representative. This experience allowed me to understand customers' pain points from a grassroots level, and within six months, I earned my first promotion to Regional Planner, where I developed planning, analytical, and technical skills. ‍ Becoming a Marketing Executive Two years later, I was promoted to the role of Trade Marketing & Distribution Executive at BAT head office, where I was responsible for the central planning team nationally and acted as the systems link between all brand and trade marketing strategies. My passion for marketing continued to grow, and I eventually became the brand executive for Rothmans Pall Mall brand nationally and within the Southern African markets. Leading Marketing Teams and Companies As my career progressed, I decided to follow my dreams as an entrepreneur and opened a vape retail store aimed at helping people quit smoking. Despite facing numerous challenges, including the impact of COVID-19, I persevered and used the downtime to enhance my skills. I upskilled myself with multiple certifications in digital marketing and founded Digital Elite Marketing Agency in Hong Kong. I also created apexx.ai, an AI-driven software solution designed to help SMEs dominate their industries. Overcoming Challenges Today, I have over 15 years of experience in all facets of marketing, including market research, strategy design and execution, digital marketing, brand management, advertising, lead generation, and online marketing. I have extensive experience in the FMCG, B2B, B2C, Agency, and SaaS sectors in the EEMEA and APAC regions. My skills include managing a marketing department from strategy to execution. Looking to the Future As I continue to grow in my career, I am excited to lead and inspire marketing teams, drive business growth, and make a positive impact in the industry.
