My name is Shenet Beasley and I’m a Community Ambassador with the Justice for My Jewel campaign, which is a movement to highlight issues vital to women’s health. Our primary focus is to bring healthier menstruation products to the places and organizations that engage with woman and girls every day. Sadly, the tampon and sanitary napkin industries have taken away the option of a healthier lifestyle by providing substandard products that women and girls feel forced to buy. The use of many of these products has sometimes resulted in rashes, infection, and incidences of Toxic Shock Syndrome. It is time for women and girls to “Know” that alternatives exist and to say “No” to products that are harmful and destructive. In the coming days, my office will be engaging with the local community and business leaders, like you, to spread the word about the Justice for My Jewel Campaign and how we’re addressing the current state of women’s menstrual health. As a person of influence for your company, you also make decisions daily that impact the health of the woman you employ and serve. These choices can resonate throughout a woman’s life, leaving lasting implications not only for her, but for her family, friends and community. And that’s why I’m reaching out to you!
