About Shengyang Li
Before pursuing PhD in Florida, I was a horticultural specialist at Taiwan Technical Mission in Belize, funded by International Cooperation and Development Fund. I executed a citrus project in Belize,'Strength the control of Huanglongbing (HLB) and Implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Citrus'. We introduced the IPM methods and other proper horticulture practices helping small Belizean citrus growers to manage the groves under HLB threat. I assisted the local collaborator to establish a micropropagation lab with the capacity of reproducing pathogen-free citrus plant sources. During my PhD journey, my main research interest is to explain how carbohydrate translocation dynamics and how PGRs affect shoot growth in citrus. Currently enrolling at Washington State University, I have devoted myself to rootstock projects. I study the combined rootstock effect on tree fruit production, conducting these new interesting research result into orchard system.
