About Sherman Lee
I specialise in complex systems analysis and a simulation modelling. This means I assess complex social and technical systems (eg. epidemics) and represent these systems in simulation models (eg. agent based models, system dynamics, and/or serious games). These models can then be used to assess the effect of policies, and help decision-makers make sense of the system. My skillset revolves around the creation of simulation models and the presentation of these findings, including data analysis and manipulation, scientific programming (Python), scenario and uncertainty analysis, as well as data visualisation and communication. Additionally, due to the interdisciplinary nature of complex systems, I am able to communicate effectively and empathetically across different disciplines. Previously, I worked with the Pandemic and Disaster Preparedness Centre in the Netherlands, studying and modelling the effect of flight bans during the Omicron outbreak. It was a very educative experience working in such a multidisciplinary research team, with public health experts, epidemiology modellers, science communicators and doctors.
