I have 25 years of nursing experience, 20-plus years in critical care/Intensive care. You will find that I possess strong critical thinking, decision making, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multi-task and function independently as well as collaborate with patients, families, physician and team members, to provide excellent patient care in the acute care setting. Have extensive working knowledge of interpreting data related to patients diagnosis/condition and progress post-treatment. Recognize and distinguish between normal and abnormal physiological and behavioral changes in acute, critical and chronic illness. Set up, operate, monitor and troubleshoot invasive equipment such as mechanical ventilators, arterial and venous sheaths and catheters, tracheostomy, gastrointestinal tubes, hypothermia cooling system, CVVHD, Intra-aortic balloon pump therapy. Resuscitate and stabilize patients, manage IV drips and titration, pain relief and sedation by providing both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, monitoring patient response. Orient and mentor nursing students, serving as a resource for new novice as well as experienced nurses to our unit. EMR computerized documentation, order entry related to patient care.
