About Sherry Hall

I am pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University. My studies are focused on implementing action research to improve student opportunities and achievement. My master’s degree is in Curriculum and Instruction. • I have served in a district-level leadership capacity for 13 years. Working in a district of fewer than 3,500 students, in partnership with the district’s curriculum and instruction leader, I have a wide range of experience with everything from implementing a new district-wide curriculum, to creating the college and career pathways, to overseeing CTE, to participating in college and career readiness initiatives, to leading data disaggregation and analysis, to conducting the district comprehensive needs assessment, to working closely with campus principals, to leading the instructional technology team, to working with TEA on the district’s TAIS plan, to planning and leading professional development, to conducting SHAC meetings and activities, to reorganizing the process and serving as the district’s instructional materials facilitator, to managing federal and state programs, and a host of other diverse activities. • My teaching experience was in a high school with urban school demographics. I taught elective courses in journalism and technology, plus credit recovery classes in English IV for at-risk students. A special place in my heart opened for at-risk students and their families, and it was the most rewarding experience of my career. • Serving in public schools for the past 20 years has given me the opportunity to serve students and families, and to support the teachers and principals who have the greatest impact on children and families. I am excited to find new opportunities to make a difference in the lives of children.
