About Sheryl Winarick

With over 20 years of experience as a U.S. immigration lawyer, I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to support people from all around the world on their journey to live and work in the United States. Most of my clients are O1 or EB1 based on their "Extraordinary Ability" in the arts, athletics, business, education, or science. I also work with entrepreneurs and founders, multinational executives and managers (L1/EB1), family of U.S. citizens, and lawful residents seeking U.S. citizenship through naturalization; and I am knowledgeable in all areas of U.S. immigration law. In addition to my independent solo practice, I am "Of Counsel" to the immigration law firm, Grossman Young & Hammond. My legal career is consistent with a greater life purpose – building bridges and deepening relationships to “facilitate freedom” and help people see the beauty and possibility in themselves, others, and the world around us. After a 3-month residency at TED.com HQ in NYC, I launched a migration-themed project to explore culture and identity through personal story-sharing in communities across the USA. In 2018, seeking new perspectives, I visited 20 countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, from Germany to Mongolia, in a little car painted by graffiti artists along the way. Now an immigrant myself, living in Portugal, my project, The Art of Migration, continues to evolve. I am deeply grateful for all who have welcomed me into their communities, homes, and hearts. Relationships and experiences have taught me much about the inter-connected nature of all life on this planet. We are in this together, and our own wellbeing is directly linked to the wellbeing of others. You matter.
