About Sherzot Azimov

As a Process Engineer at Northvolt, my passion lies in driving the transition from oil dependency to sustainable solutions through my work in battery recycling. With a Master's degree in Innovative and Sustainable Chemical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, my expertise spans hydrometallurgy, process improvement, and plant design. In my current role, I play a pivotal part in commissioning, troubleshooting, and scaling up the upstream process of leaching, filtering, and cementation. I take pride in mentoring and training new team members, conducting HAZOP studies, and overseeing project management and operational readiness. Collaborating with a dedicated team, we are successfully commissioning the entire plant, enhancing production capacity, and optimizing process efficiency and reliability. Moreover, I have actively contributed to research and development efforts focused on solvent extraction techniques for manganese separation, as part of my Master's thesis project conducted in collaboration with Northvolt.
