Computer Scientist by training, with 25+ years of research and development experience in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Genomics.• Work experience in research institutions, industry, and academia, with leadership roles in the development of research programs and computational infrastructures for genome and microbiome data analysis.• Experience in development of interdisciplinary research programs and collaborations involving computer science, biomedical science, biology, and clinical research.• Experience in designing and building large-scale informatics infrastructures to analyze sequence data generated by various high-throughput Next Generation Sequencing technology platforms.• Experience in obtaining federal funding for research programs.• Research program includes the design of combinatorial and machine learning algorithms for genome and metagenome data analysis, biomarker identification, sequence assembly, phylogenetics, microbial population modeling, pathway identification, and ‘-omics’ data integration.
