About Shinead Borkovic
I am an academic and researcher in Occupational Therapy. In 2018 I was awarded scholarship to complete my PhD, which focuses on how OT educators in Australia can effectively prepare students for professional practice in contexts of, and with clients and communities that are culturally and socially diverse. I am passionate about transformative learning, reflective practice and sharing life experiences. I have a special interest in developing students cultural humility, ability to think outside the box and creativity and innovation. I encourage and prepare graduates with an awareness of local and global socio-cultural and political issues and advocate for the development of graduates with a global professional identity. I am often given positive feedback on providing safe and inclusive environments to enable possible transformations in students learning and identity to emerge.
