About Shinjini Sarkar

A researcher with interest in automotive engineering, I specialize in simulation-based approaches for environmental validation and system performance analysis. I hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Information and Communication Systems from TU Chemnitz. Scope of work- Involved in an EU-based automotive project (GAIAX-4 PLC), taking responsibility for data post-processing and provisioning to project partners to enable the creation of a Digital Twin- Involved in a Germany-based automotive project (ADApproved), focusing on sensor data evaluation, scenario analysis, and performance/error assessment using ML techniques- Worked on DLR’s open-source scenario simulation tool, OSTAR, which implements the SETLevel generic simulation architecture. Areas of Expertise- Automotive Simulations: Proficient in Python for data provisioning, performance evaluation, and error analysis within simulation frameworks, with hands-on experience in ROS and Open Simulation Interface (OSI)- Data Analytics: Development of evaluation metrics and implementation of linear regression models for error calculation- Simulation Tools: Skilled in environmental simulations using CARLA, with fundamental knowledge of Unreal Engine- System Modeling: Experience with AVL ModelCONNECT for creating and configuring system simulation models. Research Contributions- Co-author of the paper “A Systematic Methodology for Specifying the Operational Design Domain of Automated Vehicles”, presented at the 35th ISSRE Conference, October 2024, Tsukuba, Japan.
