KEY STRENGTHS • Transformational leadership, supervision and working as part of a team and individually is a core competence that I have developed over the duration of my career I have been teaching various subjects to staff and am a certified MAPA (Management of Actual and Potential Aggression) instructor since 2010. • Creation and dissemination of both clinical and non-clinical audit tools, audit reports, audit trails and action plans and implementation programmes. My audit tool on Covid-19 related deaths (2020) was commended on by senior colleagues in the sector. I have excellent knowledge of Audit programmes on electronic documentation systems such as epiccare, e-nursing, fusion and viclarity. • Annual Quality and Safety review has been a part of my role since 2017. • Creation and management of risk registers-clinical and non-clinical on a regular basis. • Vast experience in working with HIQA on compliance and have faced numerous inspections to date. I have engaged with numerous HIQA inspectors with whom I have been able to develop strong working relationships. • Vast experience working with the HSE, public health department, community palliative team, HSA and EHO • Advanced complaint management skills. I make it a point to be thorough with the investigation to include interviews as well as written witness statements. I have well developed analytical and decision making skills. • I possess excellent oral and written communication skills and my Quantitative Study on Person Centered Care in Irish Nursing Homes(2015) was selected and presented at the annual conference at TCD. • Having taken the module of Ethics and Law in HealthCare as part of my masters in Gerontological Nursing from Trinity College Dublin in 2015 has helped me immensely in staying savvy. I had already taken the people management legal framework course on HSELand in 2010 and re-visited employment law when I completed People Management Fetac Level 6 in 2018. • I have a strong knowledge of Health Act 2007 and Regulations 2013 as amended (SI 415), the nurses and midwives act 2011 and various employment laws, NMBI code of practice and other guidelines. I keep abreast of national and international developments in policies, guidelines and research relevant to the nursing home sector. • I have been for the past 10 years, involved in either development, approval or review of local both mandatory and best practice.
