About Shirin Karami

I am a recent nursing graduate from Duke University, beginning my career in wound care, a specialty I’ve quickly grown passionate about. This role allows me to meaningfully contribute to the healing process while deepening my clinical knowledge and hands on skills. I collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary care team to support patient recovery and enhance comfort. While pursuing my accelerated bachelors in nursing, I have experienced the fast-paced and unique challenges of an accelerated program while developing my leadership skills as a nurse. During my time at Duke, I have served as president of the student council, senator of the graduate and professional student government, and as a peer mentor for cohorts below me. Building on my experience working as a certified nursing assistant, I have also strengthened my clinical expertise and leadership through hands-on experience at Duke University Hospital, the University of North Carolina, and internationally at the University of Santo Thomas in the Philippines.
