About Shiva Kumar Manoharan

Mechanical Engineer with a can do attitude. Rich of experience working with simulation of complex mechanical structures involving several non-linear contact interfaces. Have a strong research background focusing on design based solutions for problems in application. After focusing almost a decade on the research and development of bolted joints in different applications such as wind energy towers, smartphones and automotive, I am currently gathering experience in project management. My main task is the transformation of customer requirements to technical specification and project management. Technologies- Experimental methods for analysis of bolted joints- Simulation of self-loosening failure in fasteners- FEA based failure analysis techniques- Analytical calculation of bolted joints as per VDI 2230- Design based FMEA. Tools: SAP, Abaqus, Solidworks, Python, Java and HTML. My key skills as a Mechanical Engineer are- Practical knowledge in design, research and development- Solid experience in development of efficient non-linear FEA models for complex mechanical structures- Experience working both independently and as a team- Proven research skills in performing quantitative & qualitative analysis of mechanical design- Strong analytical thinking to understand the underlying mechanisms and their interactions resulting in mechanical failure- Quick-learner with a proactive mindset to learn new fields & software tools.
