I am a teacher, which means I am the designer, content writer, operations lead, communications specialist, and program manager for my classroom. Years ago, as a young, eager student, I would have told you that a good teacher was someone who provided classroom entertainment and gave little homework. Needless to say, my perspective has changed. I believe that great teaching has less to do with one’s knowledge and skills than with their attitude towards the students, the subject, and the work. My teaching philosophy revolves around student-centered learning, active engagement, and cultural sensitivity. I work tirelessly to create a challenging, nurturing environment for my students. I strive to tailor my lessons to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each individual student, as I understand that everyone has different strengths and areas for improvement. By incorporating a variety of instructional strategies, such as interactive activities, multimedia resources, and real-world examples, I aim to make the learning experience enjoyable and relevant. I have broad knowledge of my subject matter (English): its curriculum, and standards. I possess knowledge of classroom management techniques; and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people. In addition to my classroom responsibilities, I have actively taken on leadership roles within schools. As an Academic Coordinator, I have been instrumental in curriculum planning and implementation, providing guidance and support to fellow educators.
