About Shonel Sonakjee

It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves"- William Shakespeare I am originally from South Africa, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Working as an Engineer has, at its essence, required me to become a problem solver. Every project, client and solution, is unique, which has expanded my ability to be both innovative and flexible. I have worked in two countries, across numerous offices, as part of several teams - adaptability and teamwork are therefore my core skills. I have spent the last eight years working in Engineering Consulting, gaining industry exposure, and building upon my skills in design, safety, stakeholder engagement and project management. My desire for social justice and a simple and persistent urge to learn more about the world, led to my pursuit of a Masters Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy. My attention to detail, willingness to go above and beyond what is required, and my ability to produce quality work has garnered praise from both co-workers and clients throughout my career.
