Currently serving as the BES Lead Teacher at Payne Elementary within the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), I lead a specialized team focused on supporting students with intensive academic and behavioral needs. Through instructional leadership and case management, I design and implement individualized education plans grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and equity-driven practices. Collaboration with general education teachers and related service professionals is central to ensuring inclusive and effective learning environments. With over a year and a half of experience as a 988 Chat/Text Suicide Crisis Program Supervisor at Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, I oversee and support crisis counselors to ensure effective intervention and safety planning for individuals in distress. My work reflects a commitment to behavioral management, de-escalation, and detailed documentation that enhances service quality.
