About Showkat Bhat
With over a decade of enriched teaching and research experience across leading institutions, I currently serve as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Symbiosis School of Economics, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune. My academic journey spans across institutions such as IUST, SMVDU, and NDIM, where I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring students in Microeconomics, Behavioral Economics, Econometrics, Public Economics, and Environmental Economics. My research interests revolve around Impact Assessment Evaluation, Financial Inclusion, Climate Change, Productivity & Efficiency Analyses, International Trade and the Economic Valuation of the Environment, areas in which I have published extensively in Scopus- and WoS-indexed journals. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Jamia Millia Islamia. Beyond the classroom, I have delivered invited lectures, chaired academic sessions, and coordinated national-level workshops on econometrics, research methodology, and political economy. I have also contributed to several national and international research projects with ICAR, IASRI, and CGIAR-SIAC.
