About Shravani Daptardar

I’m a senior at the University of Connecticut School of Business studying Analytics & Information Management with a concentration in Business Intelligence and a minor in Human Development Family Sciences. Majoring in this field allows me to bridge business and technology with the power of data. I am passionate about transforming data to uncover insights that drive informed decision-making and business strategies. Throughout my academic journey I have developed skills in SQL, Python, Excel, data analysis and information systems while also valuing the human side of business through my HDFS minor coursework. For the past two summers (2023-2024), I worked as an Information Security Intern at Ion Bank where I analyzed bank reports with critical data and managed large amounts of data sets in excel to keep the bank’s operations reliable and secure. This role sparked my interest in data and technology. Along the way, I have strengthened my analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills. I will be joining New York Life this upcoming Summer 2025 as an Insurance Analyst Intern, where I look forward to applying my analytical skills to real-world financial data and deepening my understanding of insurance products, risk evaluation, and strategic planning. Outside of my academics and work, I co-founded an organization called Rang de Storrs where I gained hands-on experience managing logistics, securing funding, and leading a team of 35 board members. This role allowed me to build my leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. These experiences, along with my passion for data, motivate me to use data to drive better decision-making and solve real-world problems.
