My professional journey began as an Equity Research Analyst in Telecom, Media, Technology sectors and continued with working in capital markets spanning stints at Kotak, DSP Merrill Lynch and Macquarie (part of foundational team in India). After establishing the number 1 rated Telecom & Media research franchise, went on to build and grow Macquarie Asia telecom research team to a market-leading position. After spending a decade in equity research, embarked on a career in TMT Investment Banking spanning M&A, PE and Capital Markets. In last twelve years, emerged as the leading TMT Investment Banker having originated and executed some of the most marquee M&A and capital market transactions in India. I pursue a deep passion for business building, which has manifested itself in my client coverage & origination efforts, both in Investment Banking and Equities businesses, most notably at Kotak. My experience in equity research arms me with a differentiated ability to go deep on the economy, business cycles, sector dynamics, balance sheet and capital structure imperatives for corporate groups, company managements and financial sponsors. Adapt easily to multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environments having worked in India and all key markets in Asia and having clients spread across the world. In my current role, collaboration across group businesses and presenting the group has been a fulcrum. I have had the privilege of working for large Indian banks like Kotak as well as globally distributed teams in firms eg, Merrill Lynch and Macquarie.
